Desirae 4 months!

The biggest change this month has been Desirae eating cereal. As you can see she already wants to be very independent. She literally snatched to spoon out of my mouth so that she could feed herself. Apparently I was taking way too long!

We celebrated Desirae's first Thanksgiving, here she is napping with Uncle Preston. She also had her first taste of food, whipped cream! Courtesy of Aunt Nicole ha ha.

She can sit in an upright position for about 20 minutes by herself, but when she gets tired she literally just flops over!

She can now grab all items (including mommy's earrings) and they usually head straight for her mouth.

Getting ready for her first Christmas, this is daddy and Desirae playing under the tree.

Desirae's first gingerbread man.

Mommy and Desirae playing.

Desirae usually is goes to church dressed better than either of us, thanks to Grandma Brown. This is Desirae's much too big fur coat.

Change is a good thing.... I hope!

Wow, it's crazy how things can change so much in just one month. I've been considering working again for about a month, and after working a seasonal job at Sears, the desire to work became even stronger.
For those of you who know me I'm extremely independent and have always had a job, while I love being a stay at home mom and spending all day with my daughter, I miss having a reason to wake up and get "dolled up" every morning and I hate not having my own income. So after thinking about this for a month I received an email from Qwest ( I know direct competitor with my previous employer). This email talked about a job opportunity opening up in downtown slc. The building is only open from 8am to 6pm M-F, yep that's right no weekends, which in the call center environment that's completely unheard of. So after prayerful consideration and speaking with the hubby I went and interviewed for the job. I was immediately hired and the pay is pretty awesome not to mention amazing benefits. The great thing is Donald doesn't work til 5 pm everyday and his mom is available to babysit from 5 until about 6:15, which means no daycare! God is good and it's amazing how perfect the situation worked out!

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose.

3 months!

This blog was created to be about the ENTIRE Brown family, however looking at previous post I've come to realize that it's only been about one Brown family member. She is however the best member of the family and by far the prettiest. Let's face it though, once a new member of the family arrives, no one cares about the parents all people want to know is about the little one! Plus adult's are boring lol!

Well, this post is no different it too will be about none other than princess Desirae!

Alot has changed over the past month, she is 3 months now and is teething away! Even with the teething she is an extremely good baby. She holds her cheek on the side that hurts and looks at us with puppy eyes as if she's saying, "Help me". :(  But she never cries. We are very blessed to have such a wonderful baby. She sleeps through two hours of church service and never makes a sound, which for us that's pretty amazing considering our church services are far from quiet! Desirae started laughing this past month as well and she likes to stare at the ceiling and "talk". I mean she really carries on a conversation with the ceiling, laughs and all. I think she talks to the angels personally! She loves to people watch (just like her mother), and is eager to smile or laugh at everyone, well almost everyone, some folks are a little to crazy and in her face for her liking.

Desirae's new best friend! This giant dog used to belong to Donald when he was younger. It has been sitting at his mom's house for quite some time and as you can see, it takes up A LOT of space. Donald's mom was very excited to get rid of it and Desirae was very glad to receive it. She loves to "talk" to him, and smile at him.

This was Desirae's costume, only because her mom is a procrastinator and waited until the last minute to shop for one. Donald and I are not big on halloween so hopefully Desirae will be patient with us for the first couple of years!

Desirae 2 months old!

Psalm 127:3
"Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward"

Yep, that's right, my little baby is 2 months old! I can't believe how fast the time flew, seems like just yesterday we were rushing to the hospital with me cussing every word in the book because the pain was so bad. I'm still repenting for that! Motherhood has been so much fun. I don't think you ever really understand the word love until you have children, don't get me wrong I love my Donald, this is just a completely different kind of love and it's pretty amazing!

It's been a while since Desirae was weighed by I'm guessing she's 13 maybe even 14lbs now, yes she is chunkster! She recently started to hold and play with rattles and toys and pay attention to peek-a-boo. She loves to look at herself in the mirror (ok, so I may have a little diva on my hands), be read to, play peek-a-boo and make cooing and squealing noises. She can sit up straight as long as she is being supported and seems to be really close to sitting up on her own. She loves tummy time and can push herself up with her hands and hold it for a while. It's amazing to watch her change everyday, have I mentioned how awesome motherhood is?

Desirae and I taking a nap.

Grandpa making Desirae laugh, so cute!

Daddy attempting to burp Desirae, as you can see she wasn't having it.

Desirae, six and half weeks old.

Wow, it's crazy how fast the past six weeks have gone by. Desirae was 7lbs and 6 oz, she is now 11lbs and 2 oz. Desirae is quite the comedian, she makes faces at us all the time and then smiles after she does them, I think she just loves to get a reaction out of us. If someone is holding her while she is sleeping and they pass her to someone else, she will quietly open one eye to see who she got passed to. It's like she is determining if that person is worth waking up completely for! She can already roll onto her side and occasionally she'll roll over completely. When laid on her stomach she will lift herself up until her arms are completely straight, and she is starting to get strength in her back, the other day I was burping her and she was holding her back up with the best posture. I imagine it won't be too much longer before she is sitting up on her own! Here are some pics of our little princess!

"Please no pictures"

This picture pretty much sums up the life of Desirae.

Always posing with her hands.

Definitely a "daddy's girl"

She doesn't normally sleep in our bed, but she sure looks cute in it!

One Year Anniversary!

Our one year anniversary was on August 8th. Yep, that's right one day after the arrival of our beautiful baby girl. We spent the anniversary in the hospital which wasn't the ideal situation, but we both came to the conclustion that Desirae was the best anniversary present ever! The past year of my life has been filled with so much joy and happiness, there is no one else I would rather spend this life with than Donald. I look forward to our future. I am truly blessed and yes, God is good!

1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
